Introducing Collaboration Into an Application Development Environment
Overview This paper presents contextual collaboration, an approach to building collaborative systems that embeds collaborative capabilities into core applications, and discusses its advantages. The paper describes the Jazz collaborative application development environment that is used to explore this concept and discusses design guidelines that have emerged from the experience. Jazz is a research project at IBM that embraces the contextual collaboration approach by embedding a set of collaborative features into the Eclipse application development environment.
