Case Study: NES Rental Holdings, Inc.

Overview Established in 1996, NES is a leader in the $25 billion equipment rental industry, specializing in renting specialty and general equipment to industrial and construction end users. NES Rental wanted to improve the way they refreshed and supported their IT investments. In addition, they wanted to better control their PC environment. After extensive analysis, NES decided to migrate its systems from UNIX to Linux and consolidate its 17 databases into one. It hired Dell to support the Linux transition. Besides notebooks, desktops and storage systems, Dell is supplying NES with its PC Workspace Services offering.
