Overview
This paper provides Java programmers some examples of replacing an OrbixWeb (IONA Technologies) application with that of Borland Enterprise Server, VisiBroker Edition (for Java). It is assumed that the application uses the Basic Object Adaptor, and the paper presents the details of a port to the VisiBroker BOA implementation. However, the BOA is now a deprecated feature and, while it is slightly more complex, the paper also discusses the approach to and benefits of standardizing on the Portable Object Adaptor (POA).
