Bringing Learning to Life With Dell and SmartBoard

Overview The particular needs of deaf students can pose interesting challenges to educators and IT administrators alike. The Marie H. Katzenbach School for the Deaf was looking for ways to integrate technology into its curriculum and to engage its special needs students within a visual environment. First, IT managers set up a wireless network using Dell PowerEdge servers and PowerConnect switches. Because teachers also wanted an environment that allowed for as much mobility and freedom as possible, they also integrated TrueMobile wireless access points and Latitude C600 notebooks for all classroom students. By relying on Dell and SmartBoard representatives for information and direction on the most suitable products appropriate networking components to ensure a stable, scalable wireless network, IT managers knew their infrastructure would remain a solid foundation.
