Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency Boosts Help Desk Performance

Overview The Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency provides critical IT systems to the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Headquarters- United States Air Force at the Pentagon. AFPCA started out working in a highly decentralized database environment, operating a number of different homegrown systems. In 1996, AFPCA migrated these databases onto a single platform and used Remedy's Action Request System to build a custom help desk application to track help desk requests and projects. The application was complex, yet AFPCA decided that a packaged application would better meet their growing needs. AFPCA evaluated several commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) help desk applications and selected Remedy Help Desk.
