Mercury Interactive Case Study: University at Albany

Overview The University at Albany was established in 1844 and designated a University Center of the State University of New York in 1962. The University at Albany was ready to go live with a new PeopleSoft application for online student registration. The main concern was ensuring the system could handle user loads up to 16 times higher than previously required. The University had never before conducted load testing for PeopleSoft 8 applications. The University Application Development (UAD) team enlisted help from Software Quality Solutions (SQS) to implement Mercury Performance Center core product Mercury LoadRunner for pre-deployment load testing. LoadRunner is used for load, performance, and scalability testing and works by emulating thousands of users and stressing the entire infrastructure from a single point of control.
