Transponder System for Measuring and Monitoring the Intraocular Pressure

Overview For a better treatment and analysis of the eye disease "Glaucoma" (the Green Star) a continuous measurement and knowledge of the eye's internal (intraocular) pressure is of particular importance. To get a better understanding of the course of disease and to administer an individually adjusted therapy a continuous measurement and monitoring in familiar surroundings of the patient is desirable. The system described comprises an artificial ocular lens and a passive transponder ASIC with an embedded capacitive pressure sensor as well as a circular antenna coil for wireless data transmission and power supply for the ASIC.
