After starting in the textile industry in 1958, Kolon Group has been steadily expanding into all kinds of new businesses - from chemicals and finance to fashion, retailing, communications, and more. Because the group's operations were so decentralized, Kolon was not able to take full advantage of the systems. That's why Kolon decided to build a new IT platform designed to integrate the systems and information flows at its various subsidiaries. As part of Kolon's new strategy, which it calls its "e-Transformation," the company deployed Oracle Process Manufacturing at three subsidiaries - Kolon Industries, Kolon Chemical, and Kolon Glotech - and rolled out Oracle Financials and other E-Business Suite applications at nine subsidiaries.
