Overview Santos, one of Australia's 50 largest companies and its biggest onshore gas producer, experienced first-hand the challenges of a highly customised IT environment. When Santos wanted to take advantage of the state-of-the-art functionality of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, the company realised that a simple upgrade was unlikely. Instead, the company worked with Oracle Consulting to plan a complete re-implementation that included the addition of new modules. This initiative also included adapting Santos' business process to align with the best practices supported by the applications, thereby reducing the need for costly and high-maintenance customisation.
