Rapidly Deployable Broadband Wireless Communications for Emergency Management

Overview This paper describes preliminary results and status for a project that is investigating a rapidly deployable "last mile" wireless high-speed communications system to support emergency management. The system is intended to utilize surviving network infrastructure to provide network connectivity to emergency management field workers for applications such as Geographic Information System (GIS) access and audio/video conferencing.
