Overview The Office of Inspector General (OIG) evaluated whether Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its components have implemented adequate security controls to protect data transmitted on wireless networks and devices. This audit included an evaluation of the security policies and procedures for the administration, configuration, and use of sensitive but unclassified DHS wirelessnetworks. The objective was to determine whether DHS developed adequate security policies, established oversight procedures, and implemented sufficient security measures to ensure that wireless networks and devices are secure.
