National Security and Emergency Preparedness Plan

Overview AT&T plays a vital role in maintaining National Security/Emergency Preparedness (NS/EP) telecommunications capabilities in a state of readiness for authorized users during any emergency. NS/EP capabilities are provided pursuant to various Government policies as embodied in Presidential Directive/NSC-53, National Security Decision Directives 97 and 145, Public Law 93-288, Executive Order No. 12472. To meet the NS/EP telecommunications requirements, the National Communications System (NCS) has implemented the Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS).
