Overview DSL is a broadband access technology that allows transmission at bandwidths from 144 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps. DSL offers high bandwidth at lower prices than other types of Private Line access. DSL Technology is available in several varieties. AT&T DSL Internet Service utilizes Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL), ADSL and ISDN Digital Subscriber Line (ISDL) access technologies (described below). The type of DSL access utilized will depend upon the access speed and the distance the user is from the central office.
