The Benefits of 3G for Mobile Professionals in the Government Sector

Overview Recent studies carried out among government agencies in the US confirm that 3G's higher speeds and increased bandwidth will allow field workers to communicate and access information in realtime. Many routine applications are simply too bandwidth-intensive to run over slower-speed wireless data technology, so these workers are stuck in 'link and sync', namely the common practice of gathering data in the field via a laptop or hand-held PC and then later returning it to the office to synchronise and upload.
