Overview Competition in the global market has led to the rapid development of highly interactive Websites in the commercial sector. These Websites have been used to improve service, cut costs, increase efficiency and expand market share by streamlining business processes, increasing production, reducing paper flows, speeding up communications and reducing human error. This process of running commercial activities through Internet applications has become known as electronic business (e-business). The potential for e-business at the commercial level is already well established and it is now apparent that equally dramatic, perhaps more fundamental, changes will occur in the domain of public services by facilitating new ways of communication between the different players.
