Aperto Networks Chooses Fujitsu System-on-Chip for Its WiMAX Systems

Overview Aperto has selected Fujitsu's SoC as the standard silicon for its PacketWave(R) base station systems and high-end series of business-grade customer premises equipment. The Fujitsu WiMAX SoC architecture is highly synergistic with Aperto Networks' outstanding systems advantages in Quality of Service, with the ability to deliver multiple service flows simultaneously. The collaboration has validated this performance advantage, as well as the benefits of Fujitsu's footprint, processing power and power optimization, extended reach in NLOS environments and superior operation in full-duplex mode. These aspects are mission-critical to Aperto's success in the broadband wireless market, and they will help to preserve and extend Aperto's leadership in IP-rich systems functionality.
