IT Infrastructure Upgrade Helps Financial Firm Improve Productivity, Customer Service

Overview The Hanley Economic Building Society in North Staffordshire, England, has 70 staff members providing mortgage loans and other financial services to its 35,000 members. The Hanley had outgrown its IT infrastructure based on Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 and Windows NT Workstation 4.0. It was too difficult for the society's increasingly mobile workers to access the network and locate information, and without centralized management and remote administration, the IT staff spent too much time on supporting users rather than developing new resources. The Hanley worked with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Ultima Business Solutions to upgrade to the Active Directory service - part of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - to consolidate servers, and to deploy Windows XP Professional on the desktop.
