eTrust Security Management Architecture Technical Overview
Overview The execution of business transactions leverage a broad set of underlying technologies including web services, middleware and other systems - leveraging back-end data that in most cases resides on the mainframe. Each technology introduces different security approaches for authentication, authorization and auditing. These result in security vulnerabilities and inadequate auditing exposed when one application uses a default or generic user ID to gain access to another application which causes integration and security management challenges, which are further complicated by regulatory compliance considerations. eTrust Security Management Architecture addresses these challenges by providing a consistent security model across all underlying technologies leveraging open standards such as WSSecurity, SAML, SPML, ISO-10181 (AZNAPI), Kerberos, X.509, SAF - enabling true interoperability.
