Incorporated in 2002, Beijing-based Sinotrans Limited provides a comprehensive range of shipping and logistics services, including freight forwarding, express cargo transport, shipping agency resources, warehousing, terminal management, trucking, and marine transportation. Its aim was to develop a complete shipping solution, from packaging and inland freighting to container transportation, customs services, and end-to-end supervision. Key to achieving this objective was implementing an integrated information management system that would allow Sinotrans to coordinate supply chains, collect and analyze financial data, and share information across 271 offices in more than 10 provinces. According to Sinotrans, the only enterprise resource planning system robust enough to fulfill all the company's needs was Oracle E-Business Suite.
