Engineering a Solid Computing Foundation
Overview The University of Missouri has provided education, research opportunities, and services to its students since it was founded in 1839. They needed to implement an efficient, enterprise-class architecture to accommodate academic research projects and everyday administrative computing demands; decrease time spent on server deployment and maintenance; increase system reliability; and free up space in the data center. After researching different vendor offerings for server consolidation, UMR turned to Dell, one of the university's preferred providers for hardware, software, and support services. Engaging Dell allowed UMR to strategically rethink its approach to its flexibility and reliability challenges.
