Dual Optimization Methods for Multiuser Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex Systems

Overview The main point of this paper is that many optimization problems in OFDM design can be decoupled in a tone-by-tone basis via the dual method. It is shown that the timesharing property is always satisfied when the number of tones is large, and when the time-sharing property is satisfied, the duality gap becomes zero regardless of whether the original problem is convex.
