Single Frequency Network Concepts for Cellular OFDM Radio Systems
Overview For broadcasting systems like DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) or DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial) the concept of SFNs (Single Frequency Networks) is well known. It allows the constructive superposition of identical signals from more than one transmitter based on OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex). In this paper the SFN concept is investigated for bi-directional wireless communication systems like the novel ETSI standard H/2 (HIPERLAN/2), a broadband WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) radio system.
