TDMA - CDMA White Papers

Qualcomm Case Study: American Airlines

Overview American Airlines is one of the world's largest airlines, serving more than 250 cities in more than 40 countries with more than 3,800 flights. The Mobility Solutions Group of American Airlines' IT Enterprise Technology Group and the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) IT Group wanted to develop a method for mechanics to access airplane specifications and order parts from the plane instead of from the hangar. The airline chose the Sprint CDMA2000 1X network to help its mechanics access maintenance manuals and diagrams without leaving the airplane. With its CDMA-based solution, American Airlines can keep more planes in the air and not grounded for maintenance.
