Implementation of the MTG in the Real Network Project

Overview The paper presents some operator and vendor (Ericsson) experiences in implementation of the Mid Term Guidelines (MTG) on the smooth transition of existing mobile networks to IMT - 2000 for developing countries in real network project in Serbia and Montenegro for the first mobile operator Mobtel, the leading mobile telecommunications company in Serbia and Montenegro. In the first part of the paper is described GSM/GPRS network as a first step in transition of existing 2G GSM network toward IMT-2000. The paper gives and describes in details the complete network diagram.
