UMTS Omni Transmit Sectorial Receive (OTSR) and 45W Multi-Carrier Power Amplifiers (MCPA) Positioning Paper

Overview The OTSR configuration (Omni Transmit Sectorial Receive) offered by Nortel in the UMTS Base Stations is a clever way to provide full UMTS service at a low cost, while maintaining your options to grow easily in the future. This configuration, available in all UMTS BTS cabinets capable of multi-sector configurations (UMTS BTS 12020, 12010, 6020 and 6010), has the characteristics of needing a single Power Amplifier to serve 3 sectors. The tri-sector configuration, or STSR (Sectorial Transmit Sectorial Receive), is the most widely used in all mobile networks, and the network designed is based on this type of configuration. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that this design is not changed constantly when the network evolves.
