Payment Processor Flies High With HP iPAQ Pocket PC
Overview Abanco International, LLC is a leading provider of payment processing solutions. In 2003, seeking to satisfy passengers and make in-flight meal service profitable, Delta Air Lines began offering for purchase higher-end meals from cafe-style vendors such as Savorings and Atlanta Bread Company. To do that successfully, the airline needed a payment processing solution that could capture in-flight credit card and cash sales. It also needed a way to help keep a real-time inventory of in-flight meals. The In-Flight Terminal Service (IFTS) solution developed by Abanco runs on an HP iPAQ Pocket PC mounted on a sled that includes a card reader at the top and a thermal printer at the bottom.
