Unicel Unites Its Wireless Networks and Next-Generation Services on HP Solution

Overview Based in Alexandria, Minnesota, Unicel provides wireless communication services in 14 states. Internal growth and acquisitions of smaller carriers produced disparate network elements, which presented challenges to training, reporting, billing, purchasing, and deploying sophisticated data applications. HP telecommunication services and the HP OpenCall signaling platform running on HP NonStop servers enabled Unicel to consolidate its network operations. As the central repository for transient and static subscriber information, the HP OpenCall Home Location Register helps Unicel deliver mobile services over Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) data networks.
