Rosalind Franklin University Graduates to an HP Storage Environment

Overview Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science needed an IT infrastructure that could streamline communication and support cutting-edge medical research. Previously, the institution used desktop computers with local, direct-attached storage devices. The decentralized environment made it difficult and labor-intensive for system administrators to manage and back up essential data stores. Rosalind Franklin deployed two HP StorageWorks 3000 Enterprise Virtual Array systems and, later, one HP StorageWorks 5000 Enterprise Virtual Array system to supply a campus-wide data-storage environment for faculty, staff, and students. Managed by HP OpenView software and linked to HP ProLiant servers, these systems provide an efficient, scalable platform for Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, and file-print services.
