Overview From its origins as the Chicago Butter and Egg Board in 1898, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has evolved into the largest futures exchange in the United States, offering products that range from frozen pork bellies to sophisticated financial instruments that serve as benchmarks to investors worldwide. It's a demanding, high-stakes business. The challenge was to implement secure wireless technology to provide buyers and sellers with access to open outcry and electronic markets simultaneously. The solution was CME Globex electronic trading platform, HP iPAQ Pocket PC h5150 and ProLiant DL 360 servers.
