UGS Teamcenter Enterprise on Intel Xeon Processor MP-Based Servers
Overview The Teamcenter Enterprise, a product lifecycle management (PLM) application from UGS, is deployed in a wide range of enterprises with users numbering in the hundreds to the thousands. Customers will choose the architecture that best fits their user loadings, geographic footprint, and internal IT infrastructure requirements. Intel Corporation joined with UGS at the UGS Enterprise Solution Center (ESC) lab in Bellevue, WA, to conduct a series of comparative performance and scalability tests of UGS' Teamcenter Enterprise application running on IA-based and RISC-based servers. The UGS test results indicated that the Intel Xeon processor MP-based servers with Hyper-Threading Technology provide greater user capacity at a fraction of the price-per-user investment over the tested RISC-based servers.
