Information and Data Reference Model (DRM): Standards Based Architecture to Support Federated Data Management
Overview This paper addresses the architectural issues concerning the Information and Data Reference Model. The paper proposes that a layer within the Federal Enterprise Architecture be a Federated Data Management (FDM) capability, which abstracts away the nature of actual physical systems that house and manage data. The information and data services layer represents information and data as a collection of views, which can be thought of as business objects, XML documents, components, or access and information management services.
