Braskem: Invests in Intel Processor-Based Hardware Consolidation and Standardization to Achieve Excellence in the Petrochemical Industry

Overview Braskem was created in 2002 as a result of the merger of six different companies. After the merging process was concluded, the main challenge for the Information System area was the consolidation, standardization and modernization of the system architectures and technology infrastructures previously implemented in the six different companies. The solution included: consolidation of Intel Xeon processor-based servers, aimed at modernizing the Data Center and mission-critical applications, including Business Intelligence(BI), standardization and modernization of the previously installed hardware platform with Intel Pentium 4 processor-based desktop PCs and Intel Centrino technology-based notebooks, aimed at improving the employees performance and mobility, while increasing productivity and reducing management and maintenance costs.
