3Com NJ100 Network Jack: A Comparison of Network Connectivity Solutions

Overview The 3Com NJ100 Network Jack combines a four-port Fast Ethernet switch with up to two analog/data/ video ports in a compact wall-mounted case. It easily and cost-effectively transforms a single Category 5/5e wall outlet into a multiple-device connectivity platform that supports 802.3, VoIP, Power over Ethernet, and power forwarding. A 3Com NJ100 Network Jack has several advantages over LAN cabling. The cost of running four live network cables from the wiring closet to a wall outlet is considerably more expensive than wiring and installing one network jack.
