Managing IP Services With NGOSS: Phase II

Overview The project presented in this paper, a standards-based multi-vendor Catalyst interoperability initiative, demonstrates how service providers can maximize their IP Communications (IPC) revenue by rapidly rolling out advanced services and reducing the time to identify and bill for a service upgrade opportunity. The prevalence of IP VPNs enables service providers to offer flexible, advanced IPC services including IP Telephony (IPT), Unified Messaging, video and high-speed data at a cost-effective price point. Immediate billing is accomplished with a policy-based, integrated OSS infrastructure. The TM Forum's New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) architecture illustrates how to accomplish this by using standard interfaces to link multiple Commercial off the Shelf products.
