Automated Process Enables Real-Time Access to Current, Vital Files

Overview Exelon Nuclear operates the largest nuclear fleet in the nation, providing approximately 20 percent (more than 18,000 megawatts) of the U.S. nuclear industry's power capacity. Every nuclear power plant must maintain a final safety analysis report (FSAR), which is submitted once every two years to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Files were not well organized and there were sequencing problems. It was difficult to keep track of who was making changes and what changes were being made. Exelon Nuclear deployed Documentum and created a "living" FSAR, a document that is kept current on an ongoing basis. Today, Exelon Nuclear's FSARs are always current.
