Satellite Radio Provider Welcomes Next Million Subscribers With Data Management SAN and Servers From Sun
Overview Echoing the promise of cable TV, which forever changed consumer expectations of television, XM Satellite Radio (XM) has pioneered the introduction of satellite radio in the United States. XM looked to Sun, not only to deliver robust storage technology, but also to help reduce the risk of migrating to a new storage solution and to accelerate time-to-market. Starting the storage migration project in September, XM couldn't afford any downtime during the ensuing holiday season. Responding to these needs, Sun Services provided an end-to- end solution, starting with planning and preparation, followed by the design and implementation of a SAN architecture based on the Sun StorEdge 9960 system.
