Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Overview Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL 4) is the first release from Red Hat to support the 2.6 operating system kernel. This is a significant release as it contains many improved kernel algorithms, all designed to deliver increased performance over the previous release. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 now contains the functional modules from what was previously known as 'SELinux' (Security Enhanced Linux). This offers significantly higher levels of security to Red Hat customers than previous releases, but requires significant (and knowledgeable) administration and configuration.
