Overview This paper aims to raise awareness and understanding of performance management and members' roles in performance management. It builds on the joint knowledge and experience of the IDeA and the Audit Commission and the good practice developed by members in local authorities. It summarises the key messages from recent IDeA and Audit Commission publications and includes early findings from the joint alliance on improvement through Performance Management, Measurement and Information (PMMI).
