Erie County Works With IBM for Enterprisewide Business Transformation

Overview Erie County is a metropolitan area in western New York containing the City of Buffalo, the state's second largest city, and 27 other municipalities. The county executive and the director of the Department of Information Support Services (DISS) envisioned a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, following a countywide systems assessment. Erie County worked with IBM Business Consulting Services and Globalquest Solutions on an enterprisewide business process transformation of Erie County's financial, budget, procurement and human resource management processes - from system requirements to process reengineering to implementing and integrating 28 SAP modules including HR/payroll, financial, budget and materials management.
