Marconi Takes Learning to a New Level

Overview At the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the mission is to provide Emirati nationals with the educational services needed to prepare for professional and technical careers in both the government and private sectors of UAE's rapidly developing economic and cultural environment. A Marconi ATM backbone deployed at two of HCT's colleges in the 1990s had proven to be the most stable network within the facility, reporting virtually no performance problems since its installation - a fact that influenced HCT's decision to use ATM for its upgrade. With its enhanced network, HCT now has a more cost-effective mechanism to integrate video and data services on a single platform and deploy new multimedia courseware to an increasing number of students and staff at various locations.
