Collaborative Network Solution Provides the U.S. Army With Video-Enabled Distance Training
Overview The transition to new global and expanding missions, the impact of new technologies on warfighting practices, and continued force reductions have made efficient, cost-effective training of soldiers and military units now even more critical to the U.S. Army's continued success. To modernize its training system, the U.S. Army created the Army Training XXI initiative, which calls for the application of key enabling technologies to enhance the execution of Army training by employing new advances in information systems and training methods. To meet these goals, Marconi, mGen, Inc. (formerly Digital Media Solutions) and nCUBE integrated their leading-edge technologies to create a training system solution that supports the Army Classroom XXI initiative, enables military personnel to learn at their own pace and ensures consistent training of all participants throughout the organization.
