Tasman Networks Case Study: MASERGY
Overview Based in Dallas, Texas, MASERGY is a privately-held company that provides outsourced network services over its own MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based network to hundreds of medium to large businesses in the U.S. and multi-national companies around the world. When MASERGY began selling its services, the network service provider offered two encapsulation options: Frame Relay Encapsulation (FRE) and point-to-point protocol (PPP) services. With Frame Relay encapsulation, the company could not provide IP-based QoS. Using PPP, the company could not offer both private and public services over the same connection, hampering MASERGY's ability to deliver multiple services to customers seeking a cost-effective way to access the Internet and keep corporate communications private and secure. To solve the dilemma, MASERGY turned to Tasman Networks. Tasman high performance routers provide consistent top-speed throughput even with all advanced features such as QoS enabled.
