Biometrics White Papers

Aviation Case Study

Overview Aviation security poses unique challenges to the security manager. Commerce and enterprise must produce a healthy bottom line - even in airports. On the other side of the coin are the concerns of the security manager. An airport is a high profile enterprise. It presents a convenient place in which to get lost, obscure criminal activity or simply attempt to enter or leave a territory illegally. One of the tools in the manager's toolbox is that of biometrics. However it needs to be understood that biometrics do not offer a panacea. Rather, they should be welded into the many layers of security which a good security plan will contain. A particularly effective biometric is that of iris recognition.
