Server Consolidation White Papers

Setting the Standard: HP Servers Form the Foundation for Cook County's Centralized IT Operations

Overview Covering 935 square miles, Cook County provides a broad range of fundamental government services to 5 million residents and 129 municipalities. Cook County needed to implement a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and enterprise applications without increasing IT staff and funding. Cook County standardized on technology solutions from top-tier partners, such as HP servers and printers, to lower IT costs and improve capabilities and consolidated 150 HP servers into strategically located server farms. This strengthened County's technology capabilities while holding the line on spending. Cook County now operates with a fraction of the IT staff in similar jurisdictions and hasn't increased its technology budget in three years.
