Overview Headquartered in Provo, Utah, Central Utah Multi-Specialty Clinic (CUMC) serves 200,000 patients annually at eight locations spread across central Utah. After two years of explosive growth and challenges brought on by a 170 percent increase in business, CUMC needed a way to maintain high treatment standards while finding new ways to control costs. HP's iPAQ Pocket PC and Allscripts TouchWorks mEMR software running on wireless networks at all sites proved to be the ideal solution for automating clinical support. Today, busy physicians routinely use the new system to prescribe medications, capture charges, dictate, order labs and view test results, provide patient education and take clinical notes.
