Wyoming DOT Relies on HP, Oracle, and Microsoft for the Long Haul
Overview The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) provides a web-based, road-hazard information system to notify travelers and others about conditions along the state's 6,500 miles of highway. WYDOT wanted to enable application consolidation from isolated server islands to a highly available and scalable clustered environment, provide a fault-resilient environment for heavily trafficked web-based public safety and transportation information applications with increase IT staff efficiency with remote server-management capabilities and better protect internal systems and data from outside access. WYDOT implemented HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array 1000 (MSA1000) Fibre Channel SAN which helped in delivering a fault-tolerant infrastructure for critical travel and road condition information system.
