Origin Energy's Full Retail Contestability Telemetry Project

Overview Origin Energy is a leading Australian energy provider, providing gas and electricity to over 2 million Australian homes and businesses. As a result of the introduction of Full Retail Contestability (FRC) to the South Australian gas market; Origin Energy Asset Management (OEAM) as a distribution business was required to communicate with other approved market participants (such as retail business and REMCo). OEAM's role includes the capture, validation and provision of interval- metered data. The SA/WA retail market rules required Envestra to provide through OEAM), a higher level of service for interval-metered data. As such the current system needed to be updated to comply with the rules.
