Implementing Multi-Scale Method in GPRS
Overview Homogenization is a classical analytical way of simplifying a multiscale problem when the fine scale physics is described by a differential operator. An "effective" operator can be derived for some classes of fine scales and problems. It approximates the exact operator, taking the effect of fine scales into account, but does not itself contain fine scales, making it much less expensive to use in numerical computations. The most well-known applications are to elliptic and parabolic operators, such as for flows in porous media.
