Adaptive Channel Estimation for Space-Time Block Coded MIMO-OFDM Communications

Overview In this paper an adaptive channel estimation technique has been developed for MIMO STBC-OFDM transmissions over frequency selective fading channels. In particular, the paper shows that the channel estimation for OFDM-STBC collapses to the problem of estimating N parallel subchannels where N is the block size. Moreover, the paper shows that certain quantities propagated by the RLS estimator also exhibit Alamouti structures as a result of the space-time block code.
