Transmission More Important in 3G

Overview Third-generation mobile telephony systems will consist of a higher number of base stations and even smaller cells than today. Each one of the base stations will also carry more traffic then they do in a second generation system. This will put a higher demand on the transmission network. At the same time, new data services in networks will demand a higher Quality of Service than speech does today. Transmission is a key part of the whole mobile telephony, including the new data services. With a very fast rollout of the network, transmission will be of more strategic importance than ever before for 3G success.
